78 Years GENESEE YACHT CLUB 1934-2012

GYC Racing

GYC Burgee
Genesee Yacht Club
has a strong commitment and enthusiasm for Racing.  We are known for our competitive Tuesday Night and Weekend Club Racing.  Weekend Racing consists of Long Distance and Series races.   We also facilitate Informal & informative "Pizza Races" where all can learn the basics of racing or hone racing skills without the pressure of competitive racing.  GYC host two traditional signature races, the Scotch Bonnet and the Women Skipper Invitational.  We also co-host the Hospice Regatta with the Rochester Yacht Club.

Rear Commodore Report, September 2011

• As noted in the Sailing Instructions, the remaining two Tuesday night races will begin one half earlier at 6PM, due to waning daylight.

• A driver for the mark set boat is needed for one of the remaining races. Please let Ken know if you are willing to volunteer.

• Tuesday night races must be set up entirely to the West of the river so they won’t interfere with the RYC racing fleet.

• A volunteer is still needed to Chair the 2012 Scotch Bonnet Light Race Committee. Anyone interested should speak with Ken Hermann. (It was suggested that the WSI Committee should take the job.)
