Club Cruising Program - Those wishing to learn navigation and visiting other yacht clubs and marinas on Lake Ontario participate in a week-end cruise in June and August. A two week cruise is held in July. Experience the fun of sailing in a fleet and the afternoon "Skipper's Meeting" held at the destination.
One Design Fleet - Enjoy Sunday morning races with fellow Sunfish owners. Or give it a try on one of the GYC boats.
Junior Sailing - Optimist sailing school, in cooperation with Rochester Yacht Club, using GYC-owned boats. Raising another generation to love sailing ... safely!
Social Activities- From an impromptu get together on the riverside patio, to formal events like the Commodore's Reception, there's always something for everyone. You can choose to participate, or you can offer your services to help plan, carry out or clean up after an event. Work parties are another fun way to meet people, while helping to maintain the club facilities.
Sailing Knowledge and Camaraderie - Take advantage of the collective wisdom of the GYC membership to learn the tips and tricks of sailing on Lake Ontario and other more exotic ports of call. Stop in at the club and you might find yourself invited out for a sail. Cruise the waters of Lake Ontario and keep your eyes open for the GYC burgee ... you're sure to get a wave and warm hello.
